Seven-year-old Rachel of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania is an incredibly bright and loving little girl with a great big heart! She loves riding her horse during therapy and playing with her little sister, Paige. Her favorite color is pink and she has a great K-9 friend, "Buddy". She is always happy and has a very special talent for making people smile.
Rachel has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. (SMA) refers to a group of diseases which affect the motor neurons of the spinal cord and brain stem. The muscle cells become much smaller (atrophy) and then produce symptoms of muscle weakness. |

Rachel has had several surgeries and attends frequent physical and occupational therapy sessions. Her muscles are very weak and she tires easily.
One thing that always brings a smile to this brave little girl's face is being a big sister to her newly adopted baby sister, Paige. Rachel would love nothing more than to increase her mobility at home and be able to accompany Paige everywhere including access to all areas of her modest two story home without requiring continual assistance from others.

We are trying to raise enough money to install a residential wheelchair lift system which is basically like an elevator. It will allow Rachel to independently access each floor of the home with her wheelchair.
The cost for the required system is $25,000. We hope to raise the needed funds by December 25th so that we can make this Rachel's best Christmas ever.
